We are delighted to invite applications for our flagship M.Tech. program in Environmental Science and Technology for Working Professionals at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology. A working professional looking to upskill, our program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools to tackle real-world environmental challenges, ranging from water and air pollution to sustainability and climate resilience.
An M.Tech in Environmental Science and Engineering is a 2-3-year (flexible-mode) postgraduate program that blends advanced engineering principles with ecological sciences to address complex environmental challenges. The curriculum trains students in water and wastewater treatment, air pollution control, solid and hazardous waste management, environmental impact assessment (EIA), and sustainable development.
2 - 3 years (4 - 6 semesters) divided into core courses, electives, advanced laboratory work, a minor, and a major research project or dissertation.
Energy Management and Climate Action are two pillars of a sustainable and competitive economy. Effective energy management and climate actions are the essential tools in helping to reduce carbon emissions, improve efficiency, and achieve cost savings. With the objective of competence development, enhancing green job prospects and to help industry to achieve energy efficiency and sustainability goals, CII jointly with School of Energy and Environment (DST FIST Sponsored), Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (Deemed to be University), Patiala, Punjab is offering the online "Post Graduate Professional Development Program in Energy Management and Climate Action”.
The program will be for two semesters from September 2025 to July 2026.
The program will be conducted in online mode. The virtual classes would be conducted on each Friday and Saturday (3 PM to 5 PM).
The program structure will comprise of virtual classroom, live quizzes, assignments, and Project work. The Recording Link of all the lectures/classes will be available for reference. The course would mainly focus on practical case studies, analysis of energy & climate action initiatives, practical project work, and assignments based on the actual energy consumption profile of the industry, energy audits, etc. The program would have lectures from globally renowned experts, professionals, including CEOs, MDs, and Heads of various business segments.

Program Certificate
On successful completion of all the courses, including classwork*, assignments, and project work, participants will be awarded the program certificate jointly by TIET and CII. *Classwork includes live quizzes during online sessions
